On Thursday, 12th April, the Bannister Creek Primary School community honoured our service men and women at our ANZAC Service.

Thank you to Mr Winton and Fountain College students, Muaz and Yagmur, for addressing the assembly and to Mrs Grimm for playing the Last Post and Reveille.

A special thank you to Miss Marshall and the Senior School Choir for their moving performance.

Our Student Councillors hosted the ANZAC service confidently.

Thank you to Levi and Serena who responsibly performed their Master of Ceremony roles; Mackenzie and Reuben who presented a history of the ANZACs; Ashleigh, Apryl and Hayley who composed and read touching Anzac poems and Chloe and Deena who were very professional in their flag raising duties.

The Senior Choir were once again outstanding with their performance of the ‘Song of Australia’. They led the rest of the school in singing our National Anthem ‘Advance Australia Fair’ with the second verse in Noongar. Students sang a stirring rendition of the New Zealand National Anthem ‘God defend New Zealand’ including the Haka.

Each class constructed a wreath which representatives laid at the base of the flag pole during the service.

Thank you to Mr Miller for coordinating this special event and to Ms Hurae and Miss Marshall for their outstanding contribution.
