CANTEEN NEWS:

Thank you to all my wonderful volunteers – Sara, Alyssa, Lisa, Jodie, Roz and Sharron. New
volunteers are always welcome at the canteen. The available shifts are as follows: Morning – 8:30am to 11:30am; Afternoon – 11:30am to 2:30pm or all day – 8:30/8:45am to 2:30pm. If you would like to come and help, or have any queries regarding volunteering in the canteen, please do not hesitate to come and see me in the canteen or give me a call on 0439 902 107.

ENTERTAINMENT BOOKS:

Books were sent home with students last week. If you do not wish to purchase the Entertainment Book, please return it to the front office as soon as possible. If you do wish to purchase the book, please return the completed credit card payment slip or cash in the envelope.

To avoid congestion at the canteen in the morning, please write up your lunch orders at home, then drop into the canteen. If you don‟t need recess tokens or change, you can place your orders in the tub at the front of the canteen.

FUNDRAISING NEWS:

Our Mother’s Day Stall was once again very popular with the students, who had a wonderful
time selecting gifts for their Mothers. We would like to offer a very big THANK YOU to all the families who generously donated items for the stall. The stall raised over $2500 which will be used to support the P&C and our students.

CANTEEN NEWS:

Welcome back, I hope you all had a nice, relaxing break. The Winter Menu is now out and you can get a copy from the front office, the canteen, or print your own copy by clicking on this link. Sushi is no longer available; instead we have yummy, warm homemade soup – Pumpkin or Chicken Noodle. Soup is available both Tuesdays and Fridays. New volunteers are always welcome at the canteen. If you would like to help, please don’t hesitate to give me a call or come in and see me at the canteen.

FUNDRAISING NEWS:

The Mother’s Day Stall will be held on Thursday, 5th May. Gifts will range in price from $1 to $5. Could all donations please be sent in by the end of the school day on Monday, 2nd May. Your donations are greatly appreciated. Entertainment books are coming soon! Pre-purchase your Entertainment Book before 4th May to receive “Early Bird” offers that can be used straight away! A sample copy of the Entertainment Book is available for viewing at the front office.

School Early Close on Tuesday, 5th April: The canteen will be available for recess only. No lunch orders.
End of Term 1 Treat on Friday, 8th April: Eagle Boys pizza will be available to order for this day. Please check your child’s bag for an order form and return your order as soon as possible. There will be no recess available.

FUNDRAISING NEWS:

Mother’s Day: This year‟s Mother’s Day stall will be held on Thursday, 5th May (Term 2, Week 2).

EVENT NEWS:

Channel 9 Live Cross: The P&C will be providing FREE sausage sizzles and pizza slices, next to the sustainable garden, on Thursday, 31st March from 5pm. Channel 9 News will be filming the weather live from our school at 6:25pm, 6:55pm and 7:02pm.

CANTEEN NEWS:

Thank you to all my wonderful volunteers this fortnight: Gemma, Tammy, Nicole, Sharron, Sara,
Lisa, Kylie, Jodie, Shanti, Rosette, Alissa and Sue.

When ordering online, please make sure your child’s room number is correct, it may need changing from last year. We have had a few students’ lunches going to the wrong classrooms.

Due to the student free day on Friday, the canteen will be open tomorrow, Thursday 3rd, running the usual Friday menu.

FUNDRAISING NEWS:

The P&C will once again be holding an Easter raffle this year. We are asking for donations of Easter goodies. A box has been placed in every classroom. Please have all donations in by Monday 21st March.

CANTEEN NEWS:

Thank you to all my wonderful volunteers this fortnight: Jeanette, Lisa, Sara, Jodie, Sidra, LeAnne, Sandra and Sharron.

Tomorrow (Thursday 10th) is the last canteen day for 2015, our end of term treat is Eagleboys pizza.  All orders should be in by now, if you have missed out, please contact me as I have ordered a few extras, but it will be “first in best dressed”.

I’d like to give a big, big thankyou to all my volunteers, who have helped this year, without your wonderful support the canteen would not be able to function. On that note, I am always looking for more volunteers, I’m losing a few in 2016 due to other commitments so if you are able to spare any time at all, please don’t hesitate to come and see me or give me a call (0439 902 107).

I’d like to thank everyone for all your support this year and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Take care, enjoy the break and I look forward to seeing your smiling faces in the New Year.

GARDEN NEWS:

We had our last Garden Club meeting last Tuesday where the students enjoyed yummy Buzz Bar Burgers for afternoon tea, and then took great pleasure in picking the fresh produce that has been the result of all their hard work this term. We are looking for volunteers to look after the garden over the holidays, a letter will be going out this week. Please indicate which days you are able to volunteer, your help would be greatly appreciated.

FUNDRAISING NEWS:

The P&C Fundraising Committee would like to thank you all for your support this year, we have raised a great amount of money for our school! The first ever Christmas market was a great success and we raised $3000!!! It was a lovely community event and it’s been great receiving such wonderful feedback. We would like to say big thank you to:

  • Naked Real Estate for helping us promote the market by printing our flyer on the back of their advertising brochure!
  • WA Fresh for supplying buns and sausages for our sausage sizzle at a very low cost. Your support is appreciated!
  • Natalie E who secured a fairy floss machine for the day and was on the stall all day for us making fairy floss! Thank you!

Thank you also to all the volunteers who helped at the Christmas Market: Rachel, Val, Tracey, Kate, Nadine, Gemma B, Helen, Claire, Leonie, Ed, Masako, Thania, Lucy, Yuchen, Ros, Kylie, Bernie, Lisa, Jess, Tania S, Mr Christie and a BIG thank you to P&C president Natalie, for all your help and support prior to and on the day!!

Finally, I would like to say a BIG thank you to the 2015 fundraising committee: Jodie B, Jodie E, Pauline, Nicky, Tammy and Sevan for all your hard work and dedication with all the 2015 fundraisers!! Thank you again for your support in 2015, have a great holiday!

CANTEEN NEWS:

Thank you to all my wonderful volunteers this fortnight: Jodie, Shanti, Sara, Sidra, Jeanette, Lisa, Sharron, Sandra, and Le’Anne. We are always looking for more volunteers in the canteen. If you would like to help, please don’t hesitate to come and see me at the canteen on Tuesdays or Fridays. We have a new Paddlepop ‘Tropical Yoghurt’ in stock for $1.80. For a short time, while stocks last, you can buy a cup of plain milk and a Sippah Straw for $1.00.

Don’t forget to return your empty LOL cans to go into the draw for a free one.

Christmas Market – Sunday 29th November, 11:00 am to 3:00pm …… mark your diaries and save the date for Bannister Creek Primary School’s first Christmas Market!! We will have over 50 stalls, a performance by the School Choir, Father Christmas, Anna from Frozen and much more! There are still some stalls available, stalls selling new goods are $30 each and stalls selling preloved/second hand items are $20 each. Application forms are available from the front office. Donations of pre-loved school uniforms to be sold at the market would be very welcome. Please leave your donation at the front office.

CANTEEN NEWS:

Thank you to all my wonderful volunteers this fortnight: Sara, Jeanette, Jodie, Shanti, Le’Anne, Lisa, Sidra, Bev, Kylie and Nicole.

A reminder that sushi is only available on Friday’s and orders must be in by Wednesday. We have a new Paddlepop in stock, Tropical Yoghurt, for $1.80. We also now have Up & Go in Strawberry. The Summer Menu has been handed out. If you don’t have a copy, you can get a copy from the front office or the canteen. You can also find a copy on our school website.

GARDEN NEWS:

Last week, the Garden Club students planted up our lovely new garden beds and the wonderful volunteers that attended the busy bee on Saturday did a fantastic job mulching all the gardens beds and surrounds, thank you so much for all your hard work. We have fresh garden produce – Kale, broccoli, silverbeet and eggs for sale. These are available from the canteen Tuesdays and Fridays and from the garden on Tuesdays after school.

FUNDRAISING NEWS:

Halloween Disco – Thank you for everyone who has purchased a disco ticket so far, we have sold nearly 300 tickets which is fantastic and we are looking forward to the Halloween disco on Friday night.

Please be advised that NO wristbands or tickets will be given to the children this time. We have a master list of all those who have paid to avoid lost tickets. Just a reminder of the session times:

  •  Kindy/Pre-Primary   4:00 to 5:00pm
  •  Years 1-3                 5.15 to 6:45pm
  •  Years 4-6                 7:00 to 8:30pm

We look forward to seeing all your wonderful Halloween costumes!

CANTEEN NEWS:

Welcome back, I hope you all enjoyed the break. We had a quiet start to the term on Tuesday, hopefully we’ll see more smiling faces on Friday. The new summer menu will be out with the newsletter today, if you don’t receive one please see your child’s teacher otherwise there will be copies at the front office and the canteen. Sushi is available on Fridays only, orders need to be in by Wednesday. This Friday however, I will have a small selection available but it will be a case of first in first served.

GARDEN NEWS:

Thank you to all the wonderful families that helped maintain the garden over the holidays, your support is greatly appreciated. Garden Club will start up again next Tuesday (20th October) and we will be very busy planting our fantastic new garden beds which were put in over the holidays, how exciting! Produce from our garden is always for sale, come and see us on Tuesdays after school to check out what we have available, or see me at the canteen on Tuesdays and Fridays.

FUNDRAISING NEWS:

Thank you for your support at the sports day fundraisers, the graduation committee raised $601 on the sausage sizzle and the P&C drinks stall. The raffle raised $639! Fantastic fundraisers and we appreciate all the support. I would also like to extend a big thank you to the volunteers who helped on the day with the fundraisers: Tammy, Pauline, Nicky, Sevan, Tanya, Jodie E, Jodie B, Natalie B, Dave, Jeanette, Sam, Tracy, Natalie E and Nina. Also, a big thank you to the following businesses and individuals who supported our raffle and donated prizes: Goans, WA Fresh, Canning Vale Markets and Bill Johnston.

Now, time for the last two fundraisers of the year, this will be the first time we have done both and I am sure they will be a big hit!!! Firstly, on Friday 30th October, we will be having a Halloween disco which will run the same timeslots at previous discos. There will be prizes for best dressed costume boy and girl in each session. Secondly, on Sunday 29th November, we will be holding a Christmas Market with stalls, food and entertainment from 11am-3pm. Information will be sent home regarding these events very soon. If you would like a stall at the Christmas Market, please collect a form from the School’s Front Office as soon as possible as there are limited spaces available. For new stalls it is $30 and used stalls $20.
